Hearthstone

Hearthstone is a free to play card game (with ingame purchases) made by Blizzard Entertainment which is competitively played throughout the world avaliable to PC and iPad.  This card game involves the user selecting a "hero" to play as: Consequently each hero has its own "hero power" which can be utilized once per turn and a list of cards which can only be used by that certain "hero".

 

There are 3 card affinities; Spells, Minions and Weapons. By using a combination of heroes and cards, you must defeat the opponents hero which has 30 starting health to win the game. The game currently has three modes Play mode, Adventure mode and Arena mode.

 

In Play mode you have a choice of ranked or non-ranked play in other words a choice to play competitively or not.

 

Adventure mode allows the player to practices against the Innkeeper (Computer AI) allowing the player to try out certain tactics or just to try out their deck, this mode also includes a choice to enter the Naxxramas Quarters where you aim to defeat Computer Controlled boss with unique hero powers and cards subsequently if you happen to defeat these bosses you will attain a card depending on which boss you defeat.

 

Last but not least the Arena is a mode where you draft your own deck, choosing cards one by one out of a random choice of three each being the same rarity (SoulBound, Common, Rare, Epic or Legendary) in the mode you have 3 chances with the deck you make; each time you lose, you lose 1 chance. Ultimately when you have no chances left you gain an reward depending on how many victories you have attained before being defeated 3 times.

 

There is currently no trading in this game and neither has Blizzard announced whether there will be or not. Therefore currently the only way to obtain cards are through ingame rewards which are gained from daily quests or winning 3 games in a row in Play mode or finishing an Arena run.

 

This tool runs on Java 8 so please make sure you have this installed on your computer.

 

If you have already got previous information DO NOT OVERWRITE THE user_data FILE AS THIS CONTAINS ALL THE DECKS YOU HAVE MADE PREVIOUSLY. (currently decks made previously have no feature but it will come). I plan to make a patching program for this ASAP however i then will split the tools into resources and core therefore you will be prompted if you are missing resources so that you will have to redownload the resources file as it it quite large (131MB).

 

Current Version is V1.02, New Arena Calculator Feature currently in beta so it does not look flash also please enlarge the screen when you use this. Beware of the long loading time on the start of the tool there will be a loading screen in future updates, this is as it takes time for the program to register all the card images so that it doesnt lag instead while you are using the tool.

Future Updates:

  • Arena Tier List (more information on cards and preview previous deck list).

  • Puzzle Mode - where you are given a scenario and a desired outcome, your goal being to obtain the desired outcome (This may be based on previous professional games and other plays).

  • Battle Mode - Card Counter (List of your Deck and click on it when you have used the card will spit out statistics of what you could draw etc). Opponent observer lists possible cards in the opponents deck and also allows you to count what he has already played.

How the App Works:

 

Full Version: Includes program and all the data needed run the program.

Core Program ONLY: As the picture files are too large for a download each time you can just replace this with the existing files. In the future I will figure out a way to make this a patch instead of a manual copy paste.

 

Database:

 

Select a card from the list and it will display the data for the card. the search function is only for simple purposes only and is only suppose to work for a single keyword.

 

Arena Calculator:

 

This calculator is made based off Icy-Veins copy of the arena tier lists. Arena Tier lists are a way of determining the overall usefulness of a card however this is not bias depending on the cards that are already currently in your deck so you will still have to think a little. To use simply click on Create New Arena Deck then select the Hero you are playing as then select the cards from the list on the left after doing this continue to click the next button and select your card based with information of the card underneath it (Currently only Tier Number).
